    What is Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a healthcare discipline that integrates evidence-based manual therapy with a comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal health. It involves detailed history taking, clinical examination, and the formulation of individualized management plans to address musculoskeletal dysfunction. Treatment may include joint manipulation, myofascial release, stretching, and other hands-on techniques to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support tissue healing. Osteopaths also prescribe tailored rehabilitation exercises to facilitate long-term recovery and prevent recurrence. Clinical research supports the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment in managing musculoskeletal pain, improving functional outcomes, and enhancing overall physical performance.

    What we treat

    How we treat

At Wellness Osteopathy, we take a patient-centred, evidence-informed approach to treatment, tailoring care to your individual needs. Our osteopaths use a variety of techniques to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support long-term recovery, including:

    • Soft Tissue Therapy – to relieve muscle tension and improve tissue flexibility

    • Exercise Rehabilitation – targeted exercises to restore strength, stability, and function

    • Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques – including joint mobilisation, Muscle Energy Technique (MET), and HVLA (High-Velocity Low-Amplitude) manipulation to improve joint alignment and movement

    • Stretches – to enhance flexibility and support musculoskeletal balance

    • Shockwave Therapy – non-invasive treatment for chronic tendon and soft tissue conditions

    • Dry Needling – to release myofascial trigger points and reduce muscle pain

    • Cupping Therapy – to improve circulation, release fascial restrictions, and support tissue healing

    • Taping – for joint support, postural correction, and injury management

    • Lymphatic Drainage Techniques – to reduce swelling and support fluid movement, especially post-injury or surgery

    • Vertigo and Dizziness Management – including assessment and treatment of vestibular-related conditions such as BPPV
